Hyperlink to another show does not work

When I create an action button and set it to hyperlink to another PowerPoint
presentation, and then try to click on the button, I get a message that says,
cannot open the specified file. The file is closed and in the same folder
with the one I am running. I have done this many times before with no
problem. The security is set at Medium. We tried changing it to low and still
had the same message.

Edit the hyperlink and look at the full path to the file.
Does that match the path where the file's actually stored?

It kept changing the name of the file and would not allow me to enter it
manually. However, I found the problem. I had named the file I was linking to
Costs #08. When I took out the #08 and simply named it Costs, everything
worked.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Aha!

The # (hash) character has a special meaning in hyperlinks/URLs.

Interesting problem, nice detective work on the fix. Thanks for reporting this.
