Hyperlink to a folder

I have a hyperlink in Word that opens a specific folder. It opens the
folder in Explorer mode where you have a split screen of the folder and the
files. Is there a way to not show the folder structure on the Explorer bar?
I close the folders but I comes back when I try the link again. I want to
only see what's inside the folder and not the folder structure required to
drill down to that folder.

Thanks,

Hi Jasper,

My guess would be that it's the Windows Explorer default
views that are related to this. One work around is
to create a Windows shortcut to the specific folder
that uses the Explorer.exe /n,C:\yourfoldername
format (see the switches in this article)

for examples, and then create a hyperlink to the .LNK
file using the procedure in this article to be sure
you're linking to the shortcut and not the target
of the shortcut.
