Hyperlink references C drive

When I draw a rectangle (using the drawing toolbar) and attempt to insert a
hyperlink, I get a reference to the target file on my C drive. Even if I
edit the URL to be a relative address, it reverts to the C drive on a save.
However, if I draw a text box and insert a hyperlink to the same file, I get
the correct relative address. A hyperlink on a line of text works correctly
too.

Why is the hyperlink associated with the rectangle referencing my C drive?

You would be well-advised not to use any of the commands on the drawing
toolbar. For the reasons, refer to:

When you create the hyperlink, are you sure you;re pointing to a location in
your Web site, and not to a physical location on your drive?

I am pointing to the same file whether I use a rectangle or text box.
Hence, I'm puzzled by the different behaviors.

Thanks for the link to the trap page. Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a jpeg graphic which I want to make "active", ie when the user clicks
on different regions of the graphic, I want to hypertext to various pages. I
thought the simple way to do this was to add a bunch of transparent boxes
over the jpeg and set the hypertext properties of the boxes. Of course, I
can do this with text boxes and make both the box and the text transparent,
but the behavior of the rectangles was inexplicable. I will just use text
boxes unless there is some better way to achieve what I am trying to do.

Make sure that you have web / site open (File Menu | Open Web / Site and not just a file using File
Menu | Open File.
