I'm trying to embed a hyperlink (to a website) on a power
point presentation. On the slide show, it works fine. But
when I save the presentation as a jpg file, I lose the
embeded link (nothing happens when I click on it). How do
I preserve the link and still save to the jpg file format?

You can't. A JPG is just an image and will not contain anything other than the
pixels that make up the picture. Tell us more about what you want to accomplish
and we'll try to give you other ways to tackle it. Why do you want to save the
presentation as a series of JPG's?

If I understand correctly, you want to be able to view the resulting JPG and
click on what was originally the link in PPT to have it activate the link?

If so, this isn't possible. JPGs don't contain links and the programs that
view JPGs don't support linking from them.

You can have images within an HTML page that appear to have links; that's
because there's also something called an Image Map in the HTML - a bit of code
that says "When they click on this part of the image, go to this URL".

To get that, you need both an HTML file and a jpg or other image file.
