Hyperlink on a form

How do I create a hyperlink on a form that changes with the record? I've
created a hyperlink field in the underlying table and it works when I click
on it in the table, but I drag the field from the field list to the form and
create the control which holds the hyperlink; when I mouse over it, the
cursor turns to a hand but clicking on it just places a blinking cursor in
the field and does not open the URL.

Thanx,

Rip

I've been unable to duplicate your situation. Have you verified that the
Control Source is set to the name of your hyperlink field?

I will check it out.
Thanx,

I can't duplicate it either.

Ripper, on my website (www.rogersaccesslibrary.com) there is a small sample
database called "SetHyperlink.mdb" which has a hyperlink in a form. You
might want to download it and compare it to your form.

No, I haven't verified it, but isn't it done automatically when I drag the
field from the table's field list to the form?

I will double check it. Thanx for the help.

OK, here's what's happening. Upon mousing over the link, the cursor turns
into a hand, but upon clicking, a flashing cursor is inserted into the link
field and no link is opened. If, however, I right-click on the link, I select
"hyperlink" from the submenu, then "open hyperlink" from the sub-sub-menu,
then the link opens in internet explorer.

What gives?
