Some setting must have gotten changed, but when I click on a link now a new
window opens, but the original window disappears. Now I can't page back
anymore and have to navigate again to the page I want. Any advice....TIA

Hi Ric :-)

Try the following and see if it helps"

Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

The TIF size should be set to 50-60 MB. Larger caches tend to be more prone
to trouble.

also...

IE opens a link in the same window instead of a new one
From IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> uncheck "Reuse windows
for launching shortcuts."

And/or... If you have a pop-up blocker running, like Yahoo Companion or
Google toolbar, disable it, or in the case of Yahoo Companion, uninstall it.

Hope this helps :-)
