Hyperlink not working in IE 6

When attempting to launch a hyperlink from a web site in
IE 6 nothing happens. This happens to all web site
hyperlinks. Does anyone know a possible resolution to
this problem?

Visit Windows Update (with your anti-virus application disabled the entire
time).
