Hyperlink in PDF file

I am not able to get hyperlinks in PDF file, after
converting word file to PDF. May I know the reason?
 
There is no function within Word to write pdf files, so this is a question
for the PDF writing software newsgroup or support; however if you used
Acrobat, did you do so via the add-in which provides extra functionality.
