hyperlink field read only

I want to update the contents of a field of the type
hyperlink in a VB procedure. For some reason I get the
error message that it's read-only. If I try to update a
field in the same table of another type, I have no
problems.

Can anyone help me?

Are you including the display text, link address, and the two # signs, e.g.:
[MyHyperlink] = "Microsoft#www.microsoft.com#"
