hyperlink does not work

I am able to insert a hyperlink however when I hover over the address it does
nothing. I have been able to insert hyperlinks in the past
 
How are you trying to look at your hyperlink? Be design when your in the
edit mode the hyperlink will not function when you mouseover it. You can
right click and select Open Hyperlink from the drop down menu or use the
view presentation to access the hyperlink. which version of PowerPoint are
you using.
