I have 2 computers. I logged in at my jobs secure website to view a brief 5
slide powerpoint presentation. On the last slide is a hyperlink to a short
video presentation. On the first computer I go to the website and log in.
In the address bar of the computer it reads https://www.thewebsitename. When
I click on the slide presentation to view it, not save it to my computer,
just view it.....the address bar remains https://www.thewebsitename and then
the path to the ppt and I can view it fine. On the final slide when I click
the link to view the wmv presentation, the link in the address bar remains
the name of my companies website and I view the presentation fine. Now the
problem is with my second computer. When I start to view the ppt slides, the
address in the bar changes on the second slide from my work website to
"file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings......." It seems like its trying to
redirect me to a temp folder on my computer instead of reading the slides. I
can read the slides but now the link won't work because it wants to direct me
to my temp folder or something. Why is my computer changing the address in
the address bar and how can I fix it. Both computers are running windows XP.
The only diff I can find is one computer runs office 2003 and the one that
wont work runs office 2000. Thanks.

Hi,

Have you tried emptying the IE cache on your home PC? Your one PC may have
cached the web site to work off-line if you use it frequently and lost
connectivity at some point.

Also, when you open PowerPoint in IE, it may act differently on the 2 PCs.
Check this article here to see if the 2 PCs are set up differently:
http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00189.htm

How do you access the secure web site? The same way on both PCs?

Finally, does the presentation have features on the second slide that only
work in PPT 2003?
