I've just installed a new ATI Radeon X800XL card in my XP Pro system.
Updated drivers. Downloaded the latest files from ATI. Everything seems
to work, except I can't see any effect from the Hydravsion program.
Experimenting with the HydraFX tab, and selecting/deselecting the
transparency controls and the 3d controls does nothing.

What am I doing wrong?
Its an application that allows you to switch desktops, like you can have 1,
2, 3,4 ... desktops, change them with a hotkey....

It also is supposed to adjust transparency and allow one-key zoom and a few
other things--those appear to have been broken in the latest releases.

I was trying to get control of the 1-key zoom (which goes through all
resolutions supported by the display and board, there's no real control)
and was informed by ATI "this feature is not supported, use a third party
product". The Omega 2.6.75 drivers seem to support it, so I'm going to try
backrevving the drivers until I find the last one that works.

ATI really needs to find the twit who has their driver development
sidetracked with all this dot net bull and fire his ass with a glowing
recommendation in the hope that nvidia will hire him.

Well, I guess that explains why I have not been able to do anything
useful/interesting with Hydravision.

I guess I was wrong in expecting functioning software to go along with my
name brand board.

Matrox boards used to have similar capabilities, but they were removed with
the latest drivers. According to their Web site, nvidia nview does the
same sort of thing, but I haven't been able to find anyone who has tried it
on a current generation board.
