OK, so I got dual heads on this 9800 Pro. I got 2 LCD monitors. 19"
with DVI input, and 17" with VGA DSub only. I hook em both up. Yep.
Got some of it figured out already. But XP Pro already has provision
for multi monitors. There has to be an easier way to get to all the
settings for both, isn't there? I dl'd and installed the Cat 4.5 for
XP, nothing else.

I've installed it now. I was having some problems getting what I wanted
on each monitor, hoped HydraVision would help. It doesn't. The
question was; IS there an easier way to get to all the controls for the
dual monitors? The answer so far, is nope.
Thanks.

I am not sure what you mean by "all of the controls"

This may help in some weird kind of a way though.

I use a program called ultramon which manages the 2 displays. It lets you
have a taskbar on each screen independant of the other so the programs that
are open on monitor 1 *only* show on monitor 1's taskbar. and the same for
monitor 2 ,3 whatever. It also adds a couple of icons where windows puts
its close, min and max on the window. One icon will switch the app to the
other screen, the other will span the app over all screens. It can also be
setup to have a single click on the systray to disable one monitor (how I
have it set so I can turn off 1 monitor for playing games), can set
wallpaper independantly on either screen along with screensavers (although
running 2 3d screensavers will slow your graphics card to a crawl)

Thanks, I have ultramon now. Not enough desk space for more than these
two LCD's ;) And, yes, the ATi stuff just didn't give me the control I
want at all. I'll be uninstalling HydraVision shortly. I appreciate
it.

pleased to hear it. If you get sick of your LCD you could send them my way.
Still working on swapping my CRTs for LCDs. Had a look at a really nice 21'
the other day but they want major $$ for it. and of course I would need 2
of them.

Yeah, that's the pity of it :o\ The 21" LCD's are really pricey right
now. Might be a long time before the prices for them drop
significantly. By then gas plasma might be popular enough to come down
;)
