I have 2.5 GB of Dual-Channel DDR2 memory (2x 1 GB & 2x 256 MB). ever since
I installed the 2 1 GB chips, I haven't been able to hybernate my machine,
before I had them installed it would work fine, even with more programs
running.
I have an UPS connected, and would like to be able to have my machine
hybernate itself when the battery runs low, which it can't do at the moment.
Is it a design feature/flaw in XP that it won't hybernate with that much
RAM? I almost never sut my PC off, as I have tasks like defrag & scans
(virus, spyware, etc) running over the night.
Yes, hybernate is enabled, and the hybernate file exits on my system (tried
disabling & re-enabling it)
Yes, it shows as a menu item in the shutdown menu (Although it just blanks
the screen for a second, or goes to standby when I try to select it)
More specs are avalible, if needed, but my machine is less than a year old
(parts were special ordered, as I got it before they hit the shelf).
