We have a new computer where my husband and I are both
supposed to be administrators of course with different
logons. My husband is far superior with pc knowledge
than I am. As far as system functions accessability
etc. He trys to hide various items like temporary, and
history internet files etc. If it were up to him they
would disappear no sooner than they were created. I like
to check up since hes not always a good boy. Our old
computer was much easier to work around but with xp I
tried checking in to the index.dat filex for history,
temp etc he locked me out. It says access denied. (He
claims he doesn't know why and this must just be the
system denying access. Pretty sure hes a liar.

Please help.

Thanks,

Charlie

Please help.

As an administrator you can take ownership of the files and change
permissions on them.
See the Help and Support for Take Ownership and File Permissions.
This may be an audited event and he may be able to see your actions. This
may precipitate a situation you may not be prepared for.

Technology may not be the ideal solution to trust and behaviour issues in
your relationship.

If you won't take care of him he'll just get it somewhere else! Be glad it's
only on the computer.

Charlie!!!!!!!

Thank you for informing us your XP is working just fine.

I never thought I'd see a post from a potential "spy"
asking "good people" how to infiltrate a secure system
to "track usage"!!!!!!

Shame on you!
