Hi,

does anybody know why there is a huge disk activity in Windows XP when i try
to play an avi file stored on the HDD ? If i play the same file from the CD
or from the network, it starts to play immediately. At first i thought that
this may be raleted to the System Restore feature since once i had a similar
problem which was solved turning this feature off...

I have Win XP SP 1.

Thanx for any suggestions

Hi,

Could your antivirus be the culprit ? Try turning it off

Regards,

Tim

AVI files are very large, in the Gig's, so when you play the video you
should see your drive light on constantly. You are streaming from the hard
drive, cause you don't have a system cache that big.
