Hi
This has happened several times...
I click on a link to a website/page and I get a page/site that begins with
http:///
The explorer page starts blinking as if there were an electrical short in it
and my computer hangs. Sometimes it happens on pages I need.
Is this because the publisher of the website/page made a computer
language/syntax error, because of internet explorer, or something I might be
doing without knowing it?
I have IE6, SPII, WinXP Pro, NIS 2005 and I just uninstalled the new WIN
Security Program because I was having problems with it.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Sunsetinaz :-)

Check the below Registry entries vs. yours:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\DefaultPrefix]
Default="http://"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\Prefixes]
"ftp"="ftp://"
"gopher"="gopher://"
"home"="http://"
"mosaic"="http://"
"www"="http://"

If no joy..
