I don't know your exact symptoms. But the answer lies under that key.

So if you type
msdn.microsoft.com
what happens.

This may be the result of an update Microsoft released on 4/11.
Take a look at these discussions for more info:

Here's a post which suggests possible solutions to the problem:

It looks like the solution of last resort is to uninstall the
update. This can be done by going into Control Panel -> Add or
Remove Programs. Make sure that the box next to "Show updates"
is checked. Scroll down to "Security Update for Windows XP
(KB908531). Click on it and hit the Remove button. You may have
to reboot your computer for the update to be fully uninstalled.

If this still doesn't resolve your problem, you might consider
posting your question to the Internet Explorer newsgroup.

Good luck

If you have update 908531, take a look at these articles (before considering removal of the update):

Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell after you install security update MS06-015 (article published 15 Apr-06)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/918165

and http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms06-015.mspx which has been updated 4-15-2006

The first article was published Saturday, and the latter updated also.

The first article mentions Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software & Kerio personal firewall. If you have either, you're highly encouraged to read the articles.

If you have Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software, then do see & I'd suggest you apply Freudi's registry patch
http://patch-info.de/WinXP/Downloads/KB908531_Share-To-Web.zip
Extract the ZIP file and afterwards double click the contained REG
file. Let it import into the registry.
