Hello,

since last week my Internet Explorer opens only the sites in which address I
write "http:// " manually.

For example: if I enter only www.microsoft.com without http:// , then IE
does not go to this site.

How can this problem be resolved?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Leo

Hi Leo :-)

You don't mention the version of windows you are using, but, try the
following and see if it helps:

Cannot type an address without adding http://
First... Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> put a check by "Use inline
AutoComplete."

If still no joy then......

Go to Start>Run and then type (or copy and paste) the following command in
the window and then press enter.

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

You should see a message that says the file registered successfully.

also.

IE will not connect to a webpage without manually typing http://

Hope this helps.

Hi Leo :-)

Try the following and see if that helps:

Cannot type an address without adding http://
Got to Tools>Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> put a check by "Use
inline
AutoComplete."

and.....

Restore search functions
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/RestoreSearch2.REG
to restore your search functions. You may have to redo any customs settings
you have added afterward.

If the above does not work, the problem could be caused by some form of
scumware on your system:

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
