When I try to access www.circuitcity.com I get an
error "The resource you are looking for cannot be opened
by your browser. HTTP 406 Resource cannot be displayed."

Any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks.

I do have the google bar that suppresses popups, but even when i turn that

Thanks for the reply, but those articles didn;t really
tell me how to fix my IE/computer settings so I can view
those websites. I can see the website when I use Opera,
but not with IE. It is very frustrating!!!

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

You may also have to delete the Cookie for that site then.
There seems to be something in the one I have about its popup;
so if you keep presenting a Cookie which says you are ignoring popups
this may be the application's way of saying it doesn't want to talk to you.

Good luck
