I know this is probably old and I can't find any information on this right
now but I was just wondering why Windows Mail doesn't support web mail
accounts. I have a pop account but don't use it. I only use live Windows
Live Hotmail. It doesn't make sense to me to exclude this support. I could
use an explanation, please and thanks.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

I just want to add one more thing about the lack of support for web based
email. If they want to make it so you need to use Windows Live Mail Desktop,
they need to make it so you can integrate it more with the OS or other
associated applications like windows contacts or windows calendar. There
should be support for the integration of windows calendar and the calendar
used with hotmail or windows live mail. Same goes for windows contacts. Am I
right?

That's just the way it is.
Microsoft has not offered a good explanation, that I know of.

if it hotmail, there is a FREE program called HotPop to use in Vista.
for yahoo or ga\oogle, there are Ypops and Gpop.
or an all in one called PopTray
