In IE under Tools | Internet Options... | Advanced there
is a section labeled "HTTP 1.1 Settings" with 2 checkboxes
labeled "Use HTTP 1.1" and "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy
connections".
Can someone point me to documentation that explains
clearly what the result is when these checkboxes are
toggled?
I need to be able to determine the locale of a client by
reading the "HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE" variable. Clients may
be running Windows 95, NT 4.0, XP... Clients will almost
always be connected to a LAN at their location, going
through a firewall, across the "internet cloud", through
our firewall and finally to our web server. All clients
will, however, have a minimum of IE 5.5.
It appears that we do not receive
the "HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE" variable if the checkboxes I
described are not checked.
Again, I would like documentation or a clear explanation
of exactly what these checkboxes are doing.
Thanks,
Rob
