HTML Version 4.01

Can anybody confirm what version of HTML IE6 does and IE7 will support? Is it
safe to assume that it is 4.01? I searched the site and could not find any
docs or ref.

IE6 does not completely and correctly implement any HTML standard. But
it implements HTML 4.01 pretty well, and I think that this is what you
were concerned with.

As for IE7, we'll have to see. It is not yet complete.
