I noticed that when viewing an HTML page that used only text and tables in
IE6, the text inside the tables did not use the attributes set in the
BASEFONT tag, but text outside the tables did. I realize that the BASEFONT
tag is deprecated to enforce the use of stylesheets, but it is still
supposed to be available. Has anybody else noticed this problem when using
the BASEFONT tag? Thanks.

This is quite OT, you know, but what DTD are you using? Does your page
validate? Quirks ot standards mode?

First of all, what does OT mean? Because I did not specify a DTD in my code,
I do not know what DTD I am using (I guess I was using whatever the default
is for IE6). I do not receive any errors when viewing my page, so if that is
what you mean by validate, yes, it does (but since the page has just about
the simplest HTML imaginable and I used the closing tags for any tags that
one exists for, I can't imagine where it would not validate).

OT means off-topic. This group is about browsers and your questionis
about HTML.

There is no such thing as a default DTD.
