The HTML conversion tool was not a part of the "Typical" install of
PowerPoint. You may want to add it by getting your install CDs, running
setup and doing a custom install. You will be amazed at the things you
didn't get with the typical install.
As far as why you can't see the files from your boss's version, it may be as
simple as not having moved everything from your boss's computer to the
network. Converting a presentation to HTML creates a lot of files. All of
them are needed to view the presentation.

I created it in 97 SR-2 but did not have an option there
to save it as html, so I saved it on our network. It looks
beautiful. I opened it from the network on my bosses PC
which is 2000 SP-3 and saved it as html and if I view it
on his PC, its beautiful, I can no longer see everything
on my PC- which is the older version.

view on a PC with XP? I need clients accross the country
