HTML encoding

Hello.

I used to have Word 98 and Windows 98, which allowed me to
Save As HTML. Now that I have Word 2000 and XP, I can
only Save As Web Page. I am not at all familiar with the
new encoding (xml??), which is twice as long as regular
HTML. Is there a way to go back to simple HTML encoding
without having to go back to Word 98?

Is there not an option for HTML in the "save as type" field in the save
dialog? There is in Word 2003.
