I'm setting up a new computer after mine crashed.
In the past I created web pages by writing html code in notepad. Now, my
html pages in Notepad won't save as web pages. They will only save as .txt
files. Somewhere is a place to change my html editor, but I don't know where
it is.
Please help,
Thanks,
Will Moore

Thank you Andrew,
There is a selection box somewhere on my computer where I choose the html
editor. It is probably set to MS WORD by default, but all of my pages are
already written in Notepad. I need to find that selection box on my
computer.

Go to Internet Explorer | Internet Properties | Programs. Set your editor
there.

Either set Windows to show file extensions (Folder Options> View> remove
check next to "hide known file extensions") and type in all file extensions
when saving.

Or, better (I think)

Enclose the filename and desired extension within quotes. Example:
"index.htm"

Hi there,

Its as Richard said but its ' Internet Options ' not Internet properties.

You could also go to your control panel and click internet options and then
the programs tab to set the preferences of your HTML editor.

Kind Regards
