Hi all
Had a bit of an accident with some generic heat transfer compound (basically
I squeezed the tube too hard and it went all over the CPU, an AMD XP2000+ .
Anyhow I tried cleaning it off with a soft, lint free cloth (no iso. alcohol
etc. available) and installed it on an Abit NF7-S. Anyhow no boot so I put a
spare Duron 1.2 GHz in the socket (the PC's not going to be used for gaming
etc. so quite adequate).
As I know the CPU was working, in the Abit board, I'm thinking that if I
could remove all the HTC (using iso. alcohol, white spirit etc.) if the CPU
could be *resurrected* or if, as I suspect, it just needs to be binned?
TIA
