HSP56MR modem- XP doesn't see it

I have a motherboard with built in sound/LAn and modem.
It installed LAN and sound OK but it doesn't know the
modem exists. I told it to look at modem install CD and
told it to install- but the modem will not work. Does this
mean the modem won't work with XP?

(it worked fine under WinME)
 
Drivers for Windows ME aren't strictly compatible for the Windows XP
Operating system.
I would recomend visiting the website of teh modem manufacturer and
downloading drivers for the Windows XP OS for your modem
