HSP56 MR modem and XP

I am online with the modem now, with the drivers installed, but when i go to reboot windows will not cinish loading and i have to go to a restore point where my modem drivers are not loaded. So with modem drivers (updated but 3rd party) windows will not load, but i can load the drivers and use the modem as long as i don't reboot my system, any help as to how to get xp to recognize and load while modem drivers are loaded....thanks in advance for any available help!!

Have you uninstalled the 3rd party drivers and used the native XP drivers? I
am fairly sure that drivers for that modem are native to XP SP1.

Hi 311 karma,

Try uninstalling the modem in device manager, rebooting and then when the
hardware wizard detects the modem, installing _not_ the drivers for HSP56
but the drivers for NEC Fax modem (56K Data+Fax EJQ). I had a similar
problem where my modem did not work with the HSP56 drivers, yet on changing
to the Windows XP drivers for NEC Fax modem it worked flawlessly.
