"HSI" Data Problem with Text fields.

Mick N., Sr.

Hello,

I did some preliminary web searching before coming here, but did not
notice anything pertaining to what is happening, so I am posting to
see if anyone can give further information.

I have tested this with MS-Access 97 and MS-Access 2000. And on
several machines running various versions of Windows 9x, 2K, and XP.

Anytime the data value of "HSI" (upper, lower or mixed case) is
entered into a text field, it will be altered to a value of "HIS".

It matters not whether this is a control or the actual Table. And
this will happen with any database that is created.

For the life of me, I can not figure out why this is happening.

That is the AutoCorrect settings. In 97 look in Tools, Autocorrect. In
2000 I believe it's Tools, Options, Spelling tab.

You can remove the entry for HSI (note that doing this will affect all
Office applications).

Alternatively, you can change the 'Allow Autocorrect' property for the
textbox on your form to No.
