HPLJ-4200 and HPLJ-4600 with different margins

Hi,
I'm having problems with different page margins on these two printers.
Same documents (tested pairs from different applications like MS Word
and Adobe Reader) print with different margins. Both printers have
been updated with most recent drivers.
Most obnoxious is having to print letters through manual feed when
page layout is critical to get text exactly lined out with company
header logo. When I get Word template right for one printer it goes
wrong on the other.
Someone who can hint me on how to tackle this?
Cheers
Kees

Kees-

I have used both printers at work, but never tried to do exactly what
you are doing. Once I got things lined up, I never changed printers.

Considering that both printers are capable of fairly high quality
printing, you might consider scanning the artwork in the company header
logo, and printing it along with the letters. When scanned at a high
resolution and shrunk-to-size in the final document, it can look quite
sharp.

If color is an issue, you might create a custom letterhead on the 4600
color printer, offset so it would line up correctly on the 4200.

Otherwise, someone like Tony or Art may be able to advise you on
correcting the mechanical alignment of your printers!

Different printing engines usually will have different printable areas.

If you set your document margins inside the smaller printable area, it
should work on both printers.

For example:

Printer A can only print to within .25 inches of the edge of the page.

Printer B can print to within .5 inches of the bottom of the page, and
..25 inches on the other sides.

So your document will have to have at least a bottom margin of .5 inches
to be entirely printable on both printers.

Beyond that, Word may try to "help" you by doing things and making
adjustments behind the scenes.

The easiest way is probably to include your letterhead graphics in the
document and print on plain paper.
