HP96 in HP2575?

I read a review of the HP2575 printer/scanner/copier that suggested
that an HP96 black cartridge can be used in it. Can anyone verify
that? HP lists the HP96 as the black cartridge for that printer, in
the current web info for it, but I believe also used to list the HP92
as compatible. For times when I'm doing a lot of black printing, it
would be nice to know I if I can use a high capacity cartridge in it.
But before I waste the money to try one, only to find it doesn't work,
I though it would be worth asking.

Cheers,
Tom

Do you have a link to the page where HP says the #96 works in that
printer? In the manual at
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00485365.pdf it lists the #92 and
#98. While there may be regional differences in the cartridges allowed,
in the US I do not believe the #96 will work.

BTW, the #92 works in this printer but I would recommend using the #98
instead. The #98 delivers 440 pages vs. 220 for the #92 as described
at: http://h10060.www1.hp.com/pageyield/us/en/PS2570/summary.html.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Bob! -- Ooops . . . I didn't mean to
say that HP had claimed that the 96 cart works in the 2575 (that line
should have read "HP98"), only that I saw it in the review. I think
the one I originally saw was this page:
http://www.epinions.com/content_215614000772. That page suggests that
"all the information came from www.hp.com." Interesting that the list
in that review does NOT include the HP98 cart. Of course, I'd only use
the HP92 if I was doing infrequent printing to the point that a 98
would dry out before I used it up, and more likely I'll be buying
two-packs of the 98s to save a bit.

Update: the author of the review was kind enough to reply to my email
to him, and said on re-checking, the HP96 in the review was a mistake
and it should be HP98.

Cheers,
Tom
