I have the same problem with my 930c. Perhaps it's a conspiracy on HP's
part to make us use more ink when we accidentally send a print job? I
dunno... :0P

It is not an HP conspiracy :-). Firstly, there is a cancel button (the "X"
button) on the printer which can be used to cancel a job in progress. If you
are running Windows 95 or 98 you may have an issue with jobs that get "stuck"
if you try to cancel them from Windows. As far as I know this is an OS issue,
not a printer issue. Windows XP has corrected this behavior.

You might try the following to cancel a print job from the computer if you do
not want to use the printer's cancel button:
1. Select "pause printing"
2. Select "use printer offline"
3. Select "delete all jobs"
then put the printer back online and uncheck the "pause printing" button.

The "X" button never works for me either for some reason. The "CANCEL/NO"
button on my Photosmart 7350 however, does. I try all three of your
suggestions when trying to cancel a print job but it never works. In the
end I just turn off the printer which cancels it just fine. I'm seriously
considering the Canon i860 once my 930c breaks. I hate to make the switch,
but it just seems much more economical for an everyday printer. I will
definitely stay with HP for photo printing though.
