HP855C Printer and driver problems, I think

This printer printed graphics fine in W95.
When clean installed W98, the graphics printing was barely acceptable.
I put the printer on an XP computer and the printing is fine again.
Can I put that XP driver on the W98 computer?

When you went to Win98, it may have used a stock driver instead of HP's.
I think the Win95 driver will work with Win98/ME.

NT/2K/XP use a completely different driver model than 9x/ME.

No, but you can use the HP Win 95 driver on a Win 98 machine. My father-in-law
had similar results, installing the HP Win 95 driver solved his problems. For
some reason the Microsoft driver in Win 98 giver very poor colors.

Bob, I had replied to your post of this some months ago but you didn`t
see it.

I have installed the drivers you speak of but they don`t stay. I reboot
and my printer is printing lousy again.
Any hints?
I have followed the install instructions for the w95 drivers.
