xp will not allow prefrence for double sided printing on
my HP 820Cse. 95-98 does, what can i do to enable double
sided printing.

Unfort unately HP Printers and Windows XP just don't go together. HP refuses
point blank to provide any drivers for older printers and the basic drivers
supplied with XP are just that! BASIC. No double sided printing etc. Even
their newish printers like my 995 lose functionality with XP (Can't collate
multi copies) and HP are just not interested. After much expense ringing
them up and complaining I've come to agree with a few other regular
posters... buy a HP and youv'e got a lemon!

HP decided it wasn't economically viable to rewrite drivers for this old and
very discontinued printer. MS included drivers with XP so you can still
print, but they do not have all the advanced functions you were used to.
Most of these, including duplex printing, can be regained by using software
from www.fineprint.com
