Will this all-in-one machine with software for W-95 work with a pc
running W-98?
Or is it just a worthless piece of junk?

Assuming your printer is a Deskjet 600, the quick answer is yes it will work
with Win98.
HP no longer provide the drivers on their website (as of July 1 2007) for Win98
but I am almost positive that the printer is natively supported by Win98 so
long as you have the Win98 CD. Just Add Printer and load the driver from the CD.
Failing that you will need to find the drivers somewhere. But the printer
definitely works with this OS.
