Hi all,

I have the following problem with my HP2500L, it prints prefectly all
black, cyan and yellow, but not magenta. Let me explain, magenta is
properly printed in almost 80% of an A4 paper, while on the left long
side of the paper it does not. From 6-7cm inside the left margin it
starts fading out and from 4-5cm down to the left hand egde I have no
color at all.
I substituted the magenta cartdrige, but I still have this issue.
I then supposed it could be the drum, but if so it would affect the
same way all the colors, didn't it?
I'd appeciate your help.

Thanks,
Marco

If you print the Supplies Status Page, what does it say about the Drum life.
If the drum is nearly finished then it is the probable cause, also the transfer
roller may be worth replacing.
It has to be a physical imaging problem based on your description so it is
either the toner cartridge (already replaced) or the drum or the transfer
roller.

Tony,

I supposed that too, but do you still think it's a drum issue even if
I've got it only with magenta and haven't got it with the others? It's
this point that sounds strange to me, I even thought I could be
something on the chip/software side, but asked here for a feedback from
others with similar experience.
Thanks for writing your opinion.

Marco

Yes it is a concern but the symptoms you describe do not lead me to believe
that there is an electronic failure.
How much drum life do you have left?
