Does Hewlett-Packard (HP/Compaq) have any user forums similar to those
maintained by Microsoft, Corel, etc? If so, where can I find them? I've been
all over the hp website and couldn't find a clue.

Gordon,

The HP forum system is quite elaborate. There are two parts: There is the IT
Resource Center forums http://bizforums.itrc.hp.com/cm/ , and also the
Business Customer Discussion Groups
http://bizforums.itrc.hp.com/cm/1,,2,00.html

If you are primarily interested in printer issues, the ITRC has the "black
and white" forum http://bizforums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,219,00.html
, and the business side has the LJ forum
http://bizforums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,413,00.html

People whose questions are answered are encouraged to assign points to the
forum member who answered the question. Regular contributors wear one of six
hats (icons) which shows how many points they have earned. Points are
serious business there. I think it is a lot of fun, and I have spent much
less time in Usenet since joining the HP forums.

The HP-UX forums are the most active forums, and have the most regular
contributors. The level of support is outstanding. There are HP employees
who monitor and contribute to the discussions, but the best support usually
comes from those who are not employed by HP.
