Have you checked the HP website for updated drivers, have you contacted HP
tech support for help with this issue, was XP installed on this Pavilion
machine when you bought it or is this an upgrade, it is was an upgrade did
you install XP clean or did you install it over your previous setup, what
happens when you try to install it, do you receive any error messages, what
do the error messages say?
Usually in most HP peripherals, both printers and scanners, you have first
to load the apropriate drivers from the cd and then connect and turn on the
peripheral.

What do you mean by "I cannot add an HP 4670 Scanjet scanner "? Do you get
an error message? nothing at all hapens? Give us some more information.
