I read your post on the online support in communities for
the fellow having trouble with HP's Scanjet 3400C.
I have tried everything recommended by HP on their online
site and mine still won't work: I continuously get
a "Scanner won't initialize/scanner not found" message.
I've gone as far as to change the bios to EEP as directed
by HP.
Still nothing.
Am using a direct-connect parallel cable; cable's OK: my
printer works great when daisy-chained through the
scanner.
I have the new drivers from HP for the scanner that are
supposed to be compatible with XP.
Can you help??
This is making me nuts - especially since HP does NOT
maintain their email support page - it's been down since
I tried it a week ago.
They force you to call and pay $25 for a week's help.
