hp scanner 1000

just connected this scanner to my usb hub and everything works great till I turn off the computer. When I try to reboot, it stalls on black screnn saying hit del to enter setup......but that doesn't work. It also shows my processor as 633 when it is actally 1000....anybody have any idea why this is happening? i actually have to have the scanner unplugged from the usb in order to boot up successfully
 
Mark, is usb enabled in the Bios. Is your Power Supply Ok? What Wattage?

are you talking about the watage of my usb port? I have seen this installed on another computer and it works fine.......every thing else I plug into that port works just fine....how do I find out the wattage
