Hi!

Please tell me if behavior of ScanJet 5P I'm goint to buy is normal.
I dont have SCSI card to test it before I buy it.

Scanner is connected to 110V power outlet only!
When I power it up by turning the power switch ON the scanning head's
white light turns ON for about 0.5 sec, than motor tries to move scanning
head to the top end position but scaning head is already in this position
so makes only a short muffeld "kick" sound

After pressing green button SCAN nothing happens

Is it OK?

That's the same as what happens to my working 5p when I turn it on and
off with the SCSI cable either removed or connected. The green button
has to use Twain, which would be installed in the computer, so if there
is no computer attached, no Twain.
BTW, my green button does not work with XP. It's no bother for me since
I hardly ever used it. I usually scan from an open program.
