1. Physically disconnect your scanner from your computer.
2. Open your Control Panel and uninstall any HP scanner software
listed in the Add or Remove Programs applet.
3. Go to Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes, right-click
on any scanner icons and select "delete".
4. Visit
www.hp.com and download the latest Windows 2000
compatible software/drivers for your specific printer model.
5. Install the software drivers per HP's instructions.
6. Reconnect your scanner to your computer.
7. HP does not offer any drivers for your scanner for Windows XP,
so try using the ones designed for Windows 2000.
