I am getting multicolor lines across my scanned photo images. Th
scanner is approx. 4 years old. I am using the original power adapte
and USB cord. I did try a new power outlet. I also have replaced th
USB cord and went to HP for an updated driver and imaging software
but the problem persists. The Lamp and everything mechanical seems t
be functioning properly. I have also moved the scanner away from th
computer, even though it has always worked fine in it's origina
location. Is the scanner just shot?? I really liked this scanner
Thanks in advance for any help

If you are getting power supply ripple, it may produce lines in the scan.
Try a new power adapter.

If these are very thin lines and are in the direction of the carriage
movement then the chances are that you have dust on the mirrors.
