I was reading in the psc2410 manual that the card reader will format camera
cards that are under 8 megs and over 64 megs to a Fat32 format. Could
someone explain why it does that? I have a full card and i do not want it
formatted and my pictures lost? Thanks Tom

A search shows that you are referring to
a HP multifunction Printer? I downloaded
the manual and read the excerpt about
formatting a memory card in chapter 3,
page 22....

In essence, what is says is that *Windows
XP* may format the card incorrectly. The
best method...always...is to format a memory
card in the camera...or if you have specific
software that came with the camera...use it.

I don't think you have to be concerned that
the card reader will format your memory
card unless you initiate it.

However...it's always good insurance to
burn your original unedited files on CD-Rs,
DVDs etc. We see quite a few unhappy
messages from users who have lost their
image files for one reason or another.

Thanks for your help. You are correct about the printer. I was thinking that
it meant if the card wasnt formatted, that it would format it, i was just
hoping for some confirmation.
I would d-load the pictures with a cable, but the cable got missplaced.
After viewing the pictures and if i decide to keep the camera i will
purchase a cable. Thanks again for your help...Tom
