HP PSC1200 feeds too many sheets at once

I have an HP PSC1200 All-in-One printer / scanner / copier, and
although it sat unused for several months, I recently reinstalled it on
a system running Windows ME (for now).

The problem I'm having, though, is that almost every time I print, it
pulls more than one sheet through. The ink cartridges aren't exactly
cheap, and it's starting to tick me off when I print a high-quality
photo just to see that half of it is on one sheet, while the other half
is on another!

Is this a common problem for these printers, or is there a setting that
I need to change?

TIA,

Jason

I have a PSC2110 and have seen this, but only with some plain paper I
was using for knock-around printing. That paper had been salvaged from a
large box of fanfold pinfeed paper I had left over from my last dot
matrix printer. The imperfect edges formed after I tore off the sheets
would catch and drag on each other once in a while.

How old is the photo paper? Is the surface "sticky?" Some are, more than
others. I realize photo paper is expensive, but perhaps a different pack
would help. You could also try loading with just one sheet at a time.

Thanks for the help, TJ. I wish it were just the paper, but I've tried
using regular 20lb copy paper, too, and it has the same problem.

I can load with one sheet at a time, and while that works great for
photo printing, it's not so good when I print invoices. I'm
self-employed and use this printer for several things, you see. I
considered upgrading to a color laser printer, but those are just so
expensive I was hoping that this one would hold me over for awhile.

It seems like the entry point is wedged open, but can't see anything in
there. Short of taking it apart and probably never getting it back
together again, I'm at a loss!

I know how it goes. I'm self-employed, too. Wish I could be of more help...
