Started getting 'System Error' message when I try to print. Have tried all
troubleshooting suggestions such as deleating and reinstalling softwear, etc,
etc, nothing seems to work. Can print from Notepad so connection is ok.

I suppose I am both! What I meant by "Can print from notepad so connection is
ok" is that -a troubleshooting suggestion is to try and print using >All
Programmes>Accessories>Notepad, type a message, > file >print. This worked
and the page was printed, so there is an established connection between the
computer and printer. However, if I try to print anything from a file, etc
or try to print a test page from the HP psc1100 series tool box, I keep
getting the 'System Error. The document cannot be printed due to a system
error' message. The other problem I seem to be having is that I cannot seem
to be able to download the HP diagnostics plugin. Any advice on how I can get
it to download?

Hi there,

Trying to help out my mum here, she's getting an error message whenever she
tries to use her printer(an HPPSC1100) saying 'System Error' cannot print
document please reboot and try again', which obviously doesn't work!

I've uninstalled all the files relating to the printer & re-installed the
printer, but the same error keeps coming up! I've checked that it's
comunicating, and I can get it to scan & print from a scan, plus I can get it
to print from notebook, but nothing else! I've tried updating the driver etc.
etc.

whenever I turn the printer off it finds new hardware
'HEWLETT-PACKARDOFFICEJETREFLASH' - don't know what this is! and also it
keeps coming up with a window installer box.

Recently my other bro. done a disk defrag, and my mum updated her version of
Norton anti-virus, and the printer hasn't worked since then! I've tried doing
a system restore to before then, but it won't allow it for some reason!

Thinking it might be a virus or something, so thought I'd give you guys a
go! - Here's her Hijack this! log. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be greatful!
cheers! - Graeme.
