Hi,

Trying to find a cause for the trouble with my all-in-one printer.

The on light works, the control panel display lights up only when in
the folded down position, has words that are jibberish.

When the panel is lifted up..it returns to dark.

I'd like to find a way to fix this, any ideas?

If the printer is in warranty give HP a call with the printer in front of you
and answer all of the questions you will be asked.
The only way to attempt a repair is to remove the covers and check that the
connectors (to the panel) are fully home in the sockets. If that fails the
panel may be faulty.
