A never (feel so..) ending problem; The printer prints nonsense, often
just a few lines, and I cant figure out how to stop it! I turn off the
printer, deinstall the printer, turn off the computer. Somehow it
become normal again after a while, but how? The problem occurs after
paperjam or other problems

This time it just had to rest for a while, to get rid of the bad old
thoughts.... Just reinstalled it, and now everything is OK. Any
explanations?

Heat problem inside printer affecting the electronics.
How old is the printer?
Also might try a different cable from 'puter to printer.

This is usually the printer buffer memory (in the printer), or the
spooler in the computer trying to empty itself, but no longer having the
appropriate handshaking with the printer, so it is spewing out the raw
printer language.

Most printers have a panel button press pattern to clear the printer
buffer or reset the printer, and you can usually dump the printer
spooler by going into the printer menu and getting into the spooler or
driver menu and clearing the printer queue.

Since this depends upon the printer in use, the driver, and the
operating system the computer is using, I can't give you a step by step,
but those are the basics.

You don't say what kind of printer you have, which version of operating
system (although your headers say XP), or really any details at all.

Most likely it's not the printer, it's Windows trying to help you by
continuing to send a print job.

The first part of the print job has a header that tells the printer the
rest is binary data and should be printed as graphics. But somehow this
header got lost, usually because the printer had already received it and
then someone turned the printer off, losing that information.

Windows will keep sending the job until it finishes. Sometimes you can
clear the job. Double-click on the printer under Settings/Printers and
you may be able to clear it there.

It appears you are running XP. The problem is the print spooler is
continuing to send the print job and will continue to do so until the
job has been completed. You could clear this by doing the following:
turn off the printer, then go to the printers folder, select the
printer, click on printer pause printing, cancel all documents. This
should clear out the print queue.

Please give more information on your printer model and how it is
connected for more detailed help.
